Avi Gabbay’s customers say he delivers honest, friendly and speedy service.
Even before Avi Gabbay started PSeeSolutions in 2006, he was helping friends solve computer problems. Now he wows customers with his down-to-earth approach.
"I try to speak their language when it comes to computers," says Gabbay, who aims to deliver "customer service with an exclamation point!"
He netted more than 30 nominations from members for our Pages of Happiness feature last year; won the Super Service Award in 2007, 2008 and 2009; and was among Columbus' Best Contractors in 2008 and 2009.
New Albany, Ohio, member Pat Howard says Gabbay's integrity is what makes PSee stand out.
"I can't think of another company I've had better service from in any field," Howard says.

When Lynne Vermillion's sister needed help with her computer, Vermillion referred her to PSeeSolutions.
The company has been named a Columbus Best Contractor two years in a row, is a two-time Angie's List Super Service Award winner and has been nominated for Pages of Happiness 15 times.
"PSee responded immediately and went above and beyond for her," the Gahanna resident says, "so a few months later when my computer went bonkers, I knew exactly who to call."
Company owner Avi Gabbay addressed her punch list of repair issues quickly. "He explained everything in terms I could understand," she says, and he was patient while working around her playful English Shepherd.
Jim Farrenkopf of Westerville says Gabbay, who isn't required to have a trade license in Ohio, loaned him a computer so he could keep up with e-mails while his system was repaired.
"He even returned my computer within the promised two days," Farrenkopf says.
"In this economy, it's important to be customer-focused," says Gabbay, who donates free services and flat-screen monitors to local churches and private schools.

Avi Gabbay had been doing computer work for friends and family for several years. A couple of years ago, he turned his hobby into a business by starting his computer company, PSeeSolutions.
He says his philosophy is not only to fix a customer’s computer, but to make sure the customer is happy. “Fixing the problem is the first priority, but we don’t charge the customer until the problem is fixed,” says Gabbay, who recently volunteered with the “Lend a Hand, Touch a Heart” program. “I think that’s what makes them repeat customers.”
Jen Sauter of Westerville is just one of those repeat customers and calls Gabbay “my main computer guy.” She has three computers in her home and has relied on PSeeSolutions for more than a year. “[Avi] cares, and he’s personable and knowledgeable,” Sauter says. “He makes himself available with instant house calls, and it’s so convenient. He goes above and beyond.”

Avi Gabbay (left) and Kevin Silvers of PSeeSolutions soon will move into their New Albany offices, which will offer walk-in computer help and more space. Years in the restaurant industry taught Avi Gabbay the secret to running a successful computer repair business -- putting customer service first.
And customers of Gabbay's Gahanna-based shop -- preparing for a relocation to New Albany in May -- have responded.
Favorable reviews vaulted PSeeSolutions to the top of the list of Best Columbus Contractors on consumer review website AngiesList.com for two consecutive years, and in 2010, the computer repair shop was named one of the Best U.S. Contractors by the site.
Just four contractors from across the country make the list each year.
"It is validation for our business model," Gabbay said. "It shows that customer service pays."
PSeeSolutions offers commercial and residential services including repairs, troubleshooting and networking for PCs and Mac computers.
Gabbay is set to bring his trademark business, founded in 2006, to the village of New Albany this spring. His brand new shop, currently under construction, will be located at 138 East Main Street in the New Albany Exchange strip.
The move will afford better visibility for potential customers and some much-needed extra space -- the site is more than double the size of their current shop. A new technician hire is also in the works.
Gabbay said he is eager to embrace the rapidly growing business community in the village.
"It's a great environment for retail," he said. "Our goal is to have it so someone can walk in and ask questions anytime."
The key to success in computer repair, he said, is to make fixing the problem to the customer's satisfaction the top priority.
And a good computer technician doesn't "speak geek," he said -- they can explain issues in plain, easy-to-understand language.
"I think there are many places where it's all about volume and money and the customer comes last," he said
Jefferson Township Fire Department Chief Crystal Dickerson said the fire department depends on PSeeSolutions for quick and dependable service. Gabbay maintains the department's computer system and provides IT services.
"He does great work," Dickerson said.
New Albany resident Michael Dmytryk is another satisfied customer. Gabbay has provided prompt, affordable troubleshooting on multiple occasions, he said.
"He's always solved my problems, what more can I say?" Dmytryk said.
